Eligible ratepayers receive a discount to their Business Rates, due to the Government Retail Relief Scheme. This initally was a 100% discount in their charge until the June 2021, after which, the discount varies depending on the finacial year.

You can opt out of the scheme from either:

• 1 April 2021 when the full discount will be removed
• 1 July 2021 when the reduced 66% will be removed
• 1 April 2022 when the reduced 50% discount will be removed
• 1 April 2023 when the reduced 75% discount will be removed
• 1 April 2024 when the reduced 75% discount will be removed

• Once I have refused the discount, I can’t withdraw this refusal for all or any part of the discount period
• That the information I have provided will be used to amend my Business Rates account
• If I give information that is incorrect or incomplete, you may take action against me
• You may check some of the information with other sources as allowed by the law

Data Protection

The information you have provided on this form will be used to deal with your request by the relevant department. We may pass your details on to contracted third party service providers. We will store a copy of your completed request as a backup for 12 months.
